Maximizing Bedroom Closet Storage Space

There are many advantages to maximizing bedroom storage space. Whether you are trying to entice potential buyers or simply relieve yourself from the stresses of clutter and disarray, extra storage space is always beneficial. Luckily, increasing and maximizing storage space does not have to be stressful and expensive. There are many easy, affordable, and creative ways to rearrange your closets.

The first step to creating space is ridding your closet of all unnecessary space consumers. This may seem obvious, but most people suffering from closet claustrophobia have all the space they need hidden underneath items rarely used. So, before you invest in an expensive closet expansion, determine what you can sell, donate, and throw away. Minimizing is also helpful. Many people use a large hamper and large storage bins but never fill them completely.

Once you have purged your closet of the unused and unnecessary, evaluate its arrangement. Oftentimes, the actual size of a closet is less important than how it is organized. People tend to equate closet space with floor space, without taking advantage of overhead and wall space.

Adding multiple shelves above or below a hanging rod takes advantage of overlooked overhead space, and installing an extra hanging rod above and/or below the original one can provide an extra space for storing clothes that are out-of-season or rarely worn, thus doubling or even tripling your hanging space.

An alternative is replacing one full hanging rod with a half-length rod and two double-decker rods. This increases space for shorter garments, such as folded pants, skirts, and shirts, while maintaining enough space for longer garments, such as jackets, robes, and dresses. Hanging rods are generally more affordable and easier to install than shelves.

Smaller garments and accessories can be better organized and stored by adding a small dresser or building drawers. Another option is using stackable baskets, which can be easily moved and rearranged, as the space needs of your closet change.

Hanging organizers are both affordable and convenient for folded garments, allowing you to pack your clothes tightly but still find them easily. Over-the-door racks are useful for hanging shoes, belts or ties. If a door-hanging shoe rack does not free up enough space, a multi-tiered standing shoe rack can be added to the back corner of the closet.

Standing racks are also a great way to organize hats and purses, which are often stored in a way that makes it difficult for you to see all of your options. Revolving racks eliminate this inability without monopolizing all of your floor space. Furthermore, many standing racks have adjustable heights so they can work with the limits of your closet arrangement.

When all else fails, think out-of-the-closet. Storage space does not have to be strictly limited to the four walls of your closet. Under-the-bed storage containers are great for shoe and garment storage. Mounting hooks on the bedroom walls can create easily-accessible storage of ties, belts, scarves, or robes. Wall hooks are also useful for bulkier garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. Hanging hats on the wall can even be used for decoration.

If additional space is required, instead of expanding surroundings, try reducing them. Minimal construction can turn vaulted bedroom ceilings into additional closets, good for storing clothes that are rarely worn or household items infrequently used.

There are many easy and affordable ways to increase your bedroom storage space. All it takes is a little creativity and a trip to your local hardware or home improvement store. If you simply do not have the time to take on this task yourself, bring in a professional. Many businesses offer affordable services for your closet and storage needs.

Why Buy A Persian Carpet

There are many reasons why someone would decide to purchase a Persian carpet. There are normally two types of buyer: the investor and the collector, although there are those who will buy a Persian carpet simply for the appreciation of its beauty.

Let's look at the buying Persian carpets for an investment purpose: Persian carpets have an extremely high value, and even more importantly, this is recognized throughout the world. Persian carpets can be sold and purchased at high prices in all developed countries making them a currency in their own right. Unlike other investments like property and stocks, Persian carpets can be moved and stored anywhere that is safe and convenient. Besides having a high resale value and having a high value as an asset, Persian carpets are also an art work, which is an attractive addition to any home. This is an investment that adds more worth and beauty to the property.

A collector may also very likely be an investor too, but his first interest will lie in the rugs themselves. Collectors appreciate acquiring rugs with an important history and meaning. Most collectors will have an extensive knowledge on Persian carpets, and will have read and sourced a lot of information before his purchase. A collector will focus on one subject at a time, reading up and researching perhaps a certain tribe or design of rug. They will then eliminate the specimen of rug belonging to that tribe and purchase the best rug. These collectors would need to become well acquainted with a Persian rug dealer in order to have assistance in seeking the particular carpet that they are looking for. In this way they are building a valuable and sought-after collection, one which will please them in the same way an art collector treasures the art pieces of his favorite artist. It is also an added bonus that this Persian carpet collection has a high intrinsic value, which is an investment in its own right.

Many people do not have the time or inclination to buy Persian carpets for investment purposes. They may not even have an interest in them as collectors' items but simply enjoy having them around their home. People who are buying Persian carpets only for decoration will probably need advice on which carpet to purchase to suit their particular need. Should they want the carpet on the floor, they would need a heavier rug, or if they would prefer to hang it, they could look into purchasing a lighter rug. Oriental rugs add a lot of warmth and beauty to the home, and many people are interested in them for this purpose only. Of course the value is important too, and would therefore add a new depth of worth to the home.

Persian carpets are a beautiful addition to any home, and need not break the bank, especially if being bought for purely decorative purposes. Many Persian rug dealers will have different rugs of various ages and qualities that can be purchased to suit your particular need, at a cost that will suit your particular budget.

Bathroom flooring

As depending on who is using it. And whatever the lifestyle of the persons may be, bathrooms can come in various sizes and shapes. It can look very rich and large and can serve more purposes than what it is originally meant for. It actually depends on the user, and how much money he or she can spend on making it cosy and comfortable. So also the bathroom flooring will also depend on this choice. However, the one thing, that remains, and in both the cases is that the bathroom flooring needs to be chosen very carefully. This choice to depend upon the kind of accessories and fixtures that are being used in the bathroom. If not taking good care of the bathroom can be very dangerous and can create many accidents. One has to therefore be very careful, not only about the flooring but also the maintenance of the bathroom in general. Therefore, one is to consider the safety aspect when choosing the bathroom flooring.

Depending on the size of the bathroom, one can decide upon using a carpet flooring or normal flooring for the bathroom. The advantage of the carpet flooring is that it absorbs the water from the body and the feet when one steps out of the shower. On the other hand, it also has certain disadvantages. The carpet needs to be cleaned and dusted and dried very frequently. If this is not done the carpet can be damaged, and will have to be changed periodically. Marble flooring on the other hand, can last for many years. However, marble flooring is not suggested for the bathrooms as it is very slippery in nature and can cause accidents. It is, however, beautiful looking flooring and can be used in the dry areas of the bathroom. However, one needs to be very careful and considered all the safety precautions when installing marble flooring in a bathroom.

The other joyful bathroom flooring is to go for Hardwood flooring. Hardwood flooring will last for many years and is also generally durable in nature. However, in the areas where it is exposed to moisture one has to be very careful to continuously wipe it out and make it dry. If this is not done on a periodic basis, the Hardwood become damp. In many cases, it may observe water to such an extent that it may become home for rodents ants alike. When it should be very careful in these cases. So one is to be very careful when installing Hardwood in the bathroom. It is preferable to install these in the dry areas and choose other types of flooring for the wet areas of the bathroom. Doing this will give you a combination of two types of flooring and a virtual division, creating two sections in your bathroom itself. Such combinations are appreciated and add to the interior decor value of your bathroom.

There is also another type of flooring, which can be used to the bathroom, and that is laminate flooring. The advantage with this type of flooring is that it is easy to maintain. The dirt and dust can be easily wiped and all the stains can be removed quickly from the step of flooring. Laminate flooring thus requires minimal maintenance and has proven to be a better choice for people who find it difficult to claim the bathrooms very frequently. This can be a boon for those who have very little time. And yet want the bathrooms to look neat and tidy. However, as in the other types of flooring is laminate flooring also has its own disadvantage. Similar to marble and Hardwood flooring is laminate flooring scanned the very slippery once water spills on it and care is to be taken while using this type of flooring. After all the main objective of having a bathroom is for its utilitarian values and in this case safety comes first. Once the safety aspect is taken care of, the beauty and the interior decoration can be easily handled.

It is due to this reason that many people have shifted to having simple tiles in their bathroom or even parquet flooring. These are known to be very practical and comfortable in nature. The number of injuries or accidents or injuries arising out of these type of flooring is also minimal in nature. And therefore these bathroom tiles have become very popular not only among the middle-class but also the upper-middle-class of the population.

How to Select Granite Color?

Granite is one of he hardest stones available on the earth and is found across various countries and continents. Another value proposition held by granite is its color which adds on or matches to the standard of aesthetic elegance as desired by designers. It's not a hidden fact that granite is the ultimate choice for kitchen counter tops, bathroom vanity counters and has also made its way into the floorings, fireplaces and many other such applications.

The most critical issue faced by most of the designers or individuals is the choice of granite color. As granite has a wide array of color options starting from the blacks, whites, browns, blues, greens and the variations thereof. With such subtle variations it increases a challenging task to freeze upon the right granite color and hue. It has been often seen that black and blue granite is much more in demand and so are its prices. Brown and beige on the contrary give you a lot of variety to work with the combinations in your kitchen. Dark counters for light color cabinets and light counters for darker color cabinets is an accepted norm. What would be the factors which one would need to bear in mind while choosing granite color for a kitchen counter top?

Beginning off the first factor would be to walk in to a near-by granite supplier or warehouse which stocks, imports and deals with a large selection of granite slabs and not just a few samples of granite stuck on to a board. Ideally you would like the granite color to match up with your kitchen's cabinets, hence it would be advisable to carry a cabinet sample along. The same would apply in case of your granite color having to match with your existing flooring. In case of new house you could have your granite counter top selected first and then decide on the flooring, the flooring too can be of granite. Ideally run through the slabs which are a near match or a perfect combination before you intend to freeze on the granite color, as it is an one time affair and you need to make the most perfect selection which won't make you repent later.

Once you have done with your color selection you could request the granite supplier to draw out a couple of similar slabs to check for variation in color tones. Few of these granite warehouses also are efficient and expert granite installers. So you could always get the right measure of the kitchen and select the pattern. Prior to running through this exercise it would also be worthwhile to visit a few online granite stores which display granite colors along with the names or the codes and the country of origin. With a bit of online search and local market granite supplier or warehouse visit, you would be able to get hold of the right granite color that you are looking out for.
Marble City Company is the largest importer of granite slabs and offer multiple granite color options to choose from black granite, blue granite, green granite, brown granite, beige granite etc.

Choosing the Best Rug Weaving

Rug weaving and repair can be confusing especially if you aren't sure what type of damage has been done to a rug or what to expect from a repair service. Find out how to identify the most common types of damage and locate quality Oriental rug repair providers.

1. Dry Rot Damage. Dry rot is one of the more common forms of damage that may require the services of a professional rug weaving and repair service. Dry rot often resembles a worn area that looks very faded or thread-bare. Depending upon the extent of the damage, the rug may require minimal attention to stop dry rot or could be a total loss. Always obtain a written estimate prior to agreeing to have the repair performed to avoid unpleasant surprises.

2. Water Damage. Water damage can leave fine rugs looking dull and lifeless as well as smelling bad. Depending upon the extent of the water damage repairs may be extensive but are often good investments with stunning results.

3. Holes & Tears. Older rugs may have holes, tears, rips or other structural damage that requires the expertise of a professional rug weaving expert. Never trust a fine rug to anyone other than a recognized master weaver; it takes years to obtain the necessary experience to recognize the proper method and construction required to properly match a structural repair.

4. Missing Fringe. This common complaint is an unnecessary annoyance that is easily repaired by a knowledgeable professional. Experts will be able to match fringe from old rugs of the same color, consistency and period to restore the rug back to its original beauty.

5. Moth or Insect Damage. Insects are another common problem that results in structural damage to the rug which requires professional weaving or repair services to correct.

6. Stains and Spills. Stains and spills require careful cleaning to assure the delicate fibers are not damaged. Ask about having your oriental rug cleaned and repaired at the same time.

7. Color Correction. Unfortunately, many people call themselves an expert who really has no experience dealing with fine rugs; one of the most common complaints about carpet cleaning is color bleeding due to an improper wash. Color correction is possible but should be performed by an expert who is able to identify the exact color used.

Always use a reputable Dallas rug weaving or rug repair provider like Kiwi Services to perform work on your fine valuable rugs.

Basement Waterproofing Company

There are plenty of basement waterproofing companies that are out there ready to swallow up your business and get into your pocket books. Do you have flooding in your basement? Did all of your belongings get ruined? If so, then you need to find a good basement waterproofing company to make sure this tragedy never happens again.

There are many homes that have leaky basements and this is not an uncommon thing. When it rains and your basement gets flooded it can become very frustrating. This is why there are more and more basement waterproofing companies coming into existence. There are so many of them that you should not have any trouble finding someone for the job, but finding the right person can be difficult.

So how do you choose the right basement waterproofing company when there are so many out there? Isn't it like finding the best honey-roasted peanut in the can?

With so many choices when it comes to your waterproofing need, it can be hard to know if you have found the right basement waterproofing company or not. There are some that are actually plumbers or just handy man services that claim they can do it, but be careful.

First, you need to make sure they will give you a free estimate. If not, then eliminate them and move on.

Second, they must have some references or reviews from past customers. If they cannot offer you any references, then you might as well cross them off and move on.

Third, you need to make sure they are going to use the top of the line materials. No plastic should be used and if a sump pump is used it needs to be cast iron, nothing else will due. If they cut corners or use cheap products you will be happy for a little while, but the system will be lucky to last for a year.

Last, your basement waterproofing company better give you a guarantee in writing. You need at least a 5 year guarantee because if they cannot guarantee their work for 5 years, then they probably will not be in the same business a couple years down the road.

USPS Mailbox Requirements

The United States Postal Service has specific requirements for all residential curbside mail boxes. The USPS Domestic Mail Manual sets forth regulations and rules concerning residential curbside mailboxes. The manual describes the standards for letterboxes and other mail receptacles for the deposit or receipt of mail.

Residential Mailboxes
A residential mailbox is any curbside or wall-mounted receptacle which is used for the purpose of receiving material in which postage is paid.

Who Can Use A Mailbox
Only authorized letter carriers may place mail or packages into the mail receptacle. No part of the mail receptacle may be used to deliver anything that does not contain postage. This includes items attached to the box, hung from the box or inserted into the mail box. Any mailable material not displaying postage and found in the mailbox is subject to the same amount of postage as if it were carried by a mail carrier.

Exclusions from USPS Rules
Door slots and other non-lockable bins used with apartment mailboxes are subject to the same regulations as a curbside mailbox. Just keep in mind that a mail slot should be large enough to accommodate the type of mail the homeowner receives. If the mail slot is not large enough, then the mail carrier will cease delivering mail to the residence.

Curbside Mailboxes
All homeowners must keep the area around their mailboxes clear of anything than will obstruct the safe delivery of mail. If the United States Postal Service employee cannot safely reach in and deliver the mail, the postmaster may withdraw delivery to that mailbox.

Any curbside mailbox which is to be installed at the edge of the roadway or curbside of the street and allows it to be served by a mail carrier from a vehicle on any city route, rural route or highway must be approved by the United States Postal Service.

Every curbside mailbox should display the homeowner's name and address assigned by the local authorities on the flag side of the mailbox. The numbers and letters must be at least one inch high and in a contrasting color in neat, legible letters. If the boxes are grouped and the address cannot be placed on the flag side of the mailbox, then the house number should be inscribed on the door. No advertising of any kind can be placed on the mailbox or the mailbox post.

Mailbox Sizes
There are regulations regarding curbside mailboxes. A curbside mailbox can be one of three size for residential mail: small T1 (C1) size is approximately 5 inches wide by 6 inches tall and 18 ½ inches long, Medium T2 (C2) size is approximately 6 inches wide by 7 inches tall by 19 inches long, and the Large T3 (C3) size is approximately 8 inches wide by 11 ½ inches tall by 22 ½ inches long. The "T" stands for Traditional and the "C" stands for Contemporary. The dimensions reflect the minimum interior size.

Lockable Mailboxes
A locking curbside mail box will help to deter most thieves from stealing your mail. Many residential mailboxes are available with a built-in locking mechanism. If your mailbox is not equipped with a lock, you can purchase one from several online sources. Locks are essential for deterring thieves and are extremely important when the homeowner is away for several days and unable to retrieve the mail. Also note that the U.S. Postal Service will not open locked boxes nor will they accept a key for that purpose. Locks can be installed on both post and wall mounted mailboxes. When installing a lock on an existing mailbox, make sure your mailbox is strong enough to withstand an attack. Lockable mailboxes should be large enough so that if the homeowner is away for several days, it can accommodate the overflow of mail.

Novelty Mailboxes
Novelty mailboxes are mailboxes that have been dressed up or decorated in some fashion. The same rules and regulations apply to novelty mailboxes as do pre-approved and custom-built mailboxes.

Where to Place A Residential Curbside Mailbox
All curbside mailboxes must be placed in a safe and convenient place. The box must be on the right-hand side of the road in the direction of travel of the mail carrier's normal route. The box should not be placed where it places the mail carrier in a dangerous situation or drive on the incorrect side of the road or violate any traffic laws.

The curbside mailbox post should be positioned 6-8 inches from the curb and approximately 42-46 inches high measured from the lawn to the top of the installed curbside mailbox, not the top of the post. If the post has a vertical arm, the arm should not extend any closer than 6 inches from the curb. When installing your new set, make sure your set complies with these regulations.

Wall Mount Mailboxes
The USPS does not have rules or regulations for wall mount mailboxes, however, you should notify your local mail carrier before installation to ensure proper placement of the mailbox and check for any local codes or regulations governing placement of the mailbox. The product should operate easily and nothing should obstruct the opening and closing of the lid. Also check with your home owners association to see if they have any rules or requirements which you need to comply with.

Building Your Own Mailbox
All custom built curbside mailboxes must meet the same standards as approved mailboxes. Custom built mailboxes should have a flag on the outside, strength, durability and quality should be comparable to approved mailboxes.

Be cautious when building your own mailbox and post. Approximately 100 motorists are killed yearly in collisions with curbside mailboxes. Some posts are mounted in concrete or constructed of indestructible materials. In a collision, a motor vehicle can be severely damaged and its occupants injured or killed.

Mailbox Post
Mailbox posts should be neat and made of material that can adequately support the mailbox. The mailbox post may not represent effigies or caricatures that can disparage or ridicule anyone. The mailbox can be attached to a fixed or movable arm.

Make Heat a Home

Would you think I was lying me if I said "One?"

It may seem hard to believe, but it's actually possible to completely heat an average-sized home using wood stoves. In a best-case scenario, it is even possible to heat your residence with just one wood burning stove. However, this can only happen if several important conditions are satisfied.

What are those conditions? Before we get into that, you first need to understand that wood burning stoves are classified as space heaters. As opposed to the average central heating system, which uses a series of pipes and ducts, modern stoves generate radiant heat that warms a home directly.

This is excellent news for modern home owners, because newer houses are designed to be energy efficient. They require less heating to maintain comfortable air temperatures, which makes it realistic to heat a moderately-sized modern home with a single wood burning stove. Here's how this would happen.

Condition One: The stove needs to be installed in the home's main living area. Ideally, this will be in an open, communal area, where family members spend a lot of time. This is frequently on the floor shared by the kitchen, living and dining rooms-the places where people eat, read, watch TV and hang out. If it isn't possible to do this, you may have to use more than one stove to heat your house.

Condition Two: Heat flow needs to be possible. The one-stove approach works especially well in open-plan houses. If your residence has large rooms with few divisions, keeping everyone warm with just one large stove is really feasible. But if your house is broken up into multiple niches and smaller rooms, more than one wood burning stove will probably be necessary.

Condition Three: You need to choose from advanced wood stoves that are certified by the Environmental Protection Agency. This is really no more than a small caveat, since all wood stoves designed after the '90s are EPA-certified, which means they are fuel efficient and have minimal environmental impact. However, if you're not aware of this fact, you could inadvertently sacrifice the carefully engineered benefits of modern wood stoves by buying older, used models. Now you know--so check off that concern.

So, back to our opening question. How many stoves will it take to heat your home? As we've seen, the answer is conditional. But with a little advance planning, heating your residence with just one efficient, powerful wood stove can be a reality.

Splitting Firewood

If you're firewood rack is looking a little empty then you should defiantly think about filling it up! You could of course take your trusty axe out and split the logs the good old fashioned way. However most people would like to be warmed when they burn the wood rather than when they are cutting it! If you don't like the idea of splitting logs then perhaps you should put a log splitter on your wish list!

What size should I buy?

Log splitters are rated in tons, for example a professional log splitter is over 20 tons. Most home machines are around 2-5 tons. You need to also consider the horsepower of the engine, if you intend to split lots of logs then you will need a more powerful engine so that the engine doesn't burn out.

You need to start by working out exactly why it is you want to buy a log splitter, are you using it to make firewood? Or for furniture making? Or so you can sell firewood? By working out these things you will be able to know the size of machine you should buy.

What Else Can I Do With A Log Splitter?

Log splitters are obviously useful for splitting firewood, that's a given but there are many more uses.

Forestry suppliers will use a log splitter to create the first stage of planks. They start by processing the logs so that they are more manageable. Log splitters are portable and so can be used on site. This means that a lot of time can be saved, more wood can be transported and of course substantial savings.

A hydraulic log splitter machine is more than just for firewood. It can be very useful when creating log furniture. Many people like the rustic and simple appearance of such furniture.

Log splitters are available in a number of different price ranges, anything from a couple of hundred dollars right up to thousands. Now you just need to work out how valuable your time is so you can assess whether or not it is worthwhile for you to buy a log splitter.

Let's assume you can split 10 logs per hour by hand and you are paid $50 per hour. A simple 4 ton log splitter can split 100 logs in an hour, now that is quite a substantial and generous saving!

Log splitters also need very little maintenance, they are self lubricating and are actually easier to care for than an axe. Axes need to be sharpened on a regular basis, not to mention the possibility of you cutting something off with one!

You just need to work out how much your safety, time and convenience are worth. Normally these will be worth a lot more than the cost of a log splitter. Hydraulic log splitters are a great way to save time when splitting logs!

Making Your House a Home

This will be the first in my upcoming series on Home Improvement. I hope that my articles will help you and inspire you, to not only beatify your home but, to enjoy being able to do many things on your own with my guidance. This article will focus on many of the small things you can do that will make a big difference in beautifying your home.

Even with today's economy most Americans know that the best investment they could make is in their homes. Monies spent on any home improvements, repairs or additions increases the value of your home and are tax deductible. If you are about to sell your home you want to make the house as appealing and well kept as you can because not only will that better your chances that people who see will like it but you can get more for your home.

Sometimes the smallest investment will make a big difference, in the look and in the value of your home. If you have light switch covers that are yellow and/or dirty, painted over or painted on, changing them will make the walls look better. Also change the old outlet covers. Both are simple to do if you have a small screwdriver. Many of these covers have from one to four screws to remove from the old cover and new screws to replace the new cover.

Next: Change door knobs and locks. If you are in the process of selling your home this is an investment the will impress any prospective buyer. It shows that you are concerned about the security and safety of the house. Shiny new hard ware on all the doors will look real nice to.

Change light fixtures and light bulbs. Many of the new lighting fixtures on the market today are more energy efficient. A new light fixture would do a lot towards making the house look clean and well maintained. Using the right bulbs for these fixtures saves energy and produces a better quality light. If you do not like working on ladders, or you have a fear of electricity, this is something best left to a tradesman.

Change the handles on your kitchen cabinets. Even if your cabinets are fairly new the handles could be a little worn. There are lots of handles to choose from, you do not have to use the same handles again, unless you want to. Also, check all the hinges to make certain the screws are tight and the doors wont come down.

Another excellent investment in your home is the bath room hardware and accessories. Changing the sink faucet, toilet handle, shower heads, shower faucet and handles, helps the bathroom look newer. Change the towel racks and soap dishes, if they are ceramic and are cracked and old, they to can be replaced. Kitchen faucets and drain would make a good impression, and most of these thing should be done by home owners at least once every year or two.

Most of the people with an urge to start working forget about their organization plans and not properly setting up the work space. Organizing proper workspace is the most important measure you can take to avoid a situation of running out of stock of home office supplies.

You have to remember one of the main factors affecting the comfort and work output is the proper attractive office set up. You have to spend many hours in the home office once it starts to function smoothly and so it is highly essential to have a organized office workspace.

The design plans for office work space depend on the way by which you use the office space. If you are using your family room as the office and if you locate the printer and computers in one corner of the room, you will be using the family room cabinets to stock supplies.

Mostly people go for spare bedroom as the home office and if you are one such, remove the bed and other junk so that you will gain some empty space to keep the supplies. Maintaining the proper record of the home office supply items you are spending not only helps you in making sure that you are not running out but also help you to prepare the tax returns perfectly. You should necessarily keep track of payments against each item for the tax purposes.

Drinking Filtered Water

Some people only boil the tap water as their daily drinking water. This is because they want to save money instead of purchasing a home drinking water filter. Yes, you can kill the bacteria and other natural deposits, but, do you know that there are still chlorine and other contamination in the boiled water that is harmful to your body? So, what do you choose? Money or health? Think about it!

Drinking water filters are essential because they provide healthier water and also give a better taste when drinking as the water is cleared from chlorine and bacterial contaminants. The filtered water also does not have the distinct smell of "contaminated" water. Besides that, a good quality water filter system also prevents you from consuming lead that can be found in unclean water. It filters the water by stages and you will be able to have clean, pure and healthy water for drinking.

You would be amazed to know that drinking water filters can reduce the risk of contracting rectal cancer, colon cancer and bladder cancer as the filters can effectively remove chlorines that can cause such terminal illnesses. Thus, water that is purified and filtered will protect us from water-borne diseases that is dangerous. Not only that, the filters also help to balance the pH of the water (as needed in our body) which means the healthy minerals are remained in the water and not removed. It gives us the luxury and convenience of enjoying safe and healthy water at home.

As the drinking water filters are installed to our taps, we will always have clean and filtered water not just for drinking but for cooking as well. This is very important especially for children as they need to consume healthy clean water. Children are very prone to illness easily as they have lesser antibodies to resist the bacteria or virus that is contained in unfiltered tap water.

Thus, mothers should always make sure that the family consumes only purified, filtered water. To do that, the easiest and most affordable way is to install a drinking water filter in the kitchen. The question is, with so many water filters and purifiers in the market, which is the best one? The answer lies with Aquasana water filtration and purification system - the #1 rated whole house water filter in America, which is voted "Best Buy" by Consumers Digest magazine in year 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007!

Home Purifier Water System

Before deciding to own a home water purifier, you must explore the type of water being supplied to your home. And, a home purifier water system is a need when there is no water treatment facility nearby your housing area. The truth about having a house water purifying system is that it is no longer a luxury to have such one installed since nowadays tap water is no longer safe to drink. Yes, gone indeed are the days when one can simply get a glass of drink straight from the faucet or have some through the garden hose while watering the plants.

Certain harmful microorganisms and contaminants that of course can ruin one's health has known to contaminate the present water people drink, so purchasing a home water purifier could be as significant as having a heating system in the house. Pollution is one of the major factors in the contamination of water.

An alarming total of about 260 various chemicals were seen to be present in tap water. That is why there is really a huge need for a good home water purifier to ensure that one's health is not put into possible danger while quenching one's thirst. If one will be drinking water that did not undergo purification, chances are he or she will get certain kind of disease. Always have in mind that pure water is a must to ensure that you can live a healthy life.

A reliable home purifier water system will get rid of, among others, viruses, bacteria, fungi and algae; certain types of parasites; and copper, chromium and lead which are toxic metals. When taking a bath or shower, purified water will not dry out the skin and hair and a home water purifier would greatly assist in laundering clothes since there are chemicals that can badly affect the fabrics.

It's truly crucial today to have water purifiers in your house that would efficiently eliminate harmful organic compounds and other chemicals. Remember, people use water for their everyday cooking, and heat cannot remove all harmful chemicals. Now that you know the benefits of a home water purifier, better buy one for the protection and safety of yourself and your family. Spend your hard-earned money on it rather than on medications and hospital bills.

Take a Home Vacation in Your Sunroom

With the rising cost of gas more and more people are taking vacations closer to home and several are stuck at home completely either camping in their yard or doing absolutely nothing. Admittedly it's hard to imagine not being able to just jump in the car and go anywhere we want, and the thought of being stuck at home is painful for many. However, there is something you can do about it. Make your home an inviting location that you'd be happy to stay in. Or trade homes with someone for a weekend and see what life is like for someone else.

If you choose to make your home more inviting to yourself and others, please consider re-opening your sunroom and using it to its full advantage. If you don't have one you can build one. While this does cost money it's also likely to improve the value of your home. If you can do most of the work yourself you'll actually come out ahead.

Regardless of the weather outside you can enjoy it from the comfort of your climate controlled sunroom. A sunroom generally has an over abundance of windows allowing for the maximum amount of light to come in and affording you the beautiful views of the scenery around you. If your scenery isn't beautiful, spend some time making it that way. The windows in a sunroom should be of the maximum energy efficiency for both summer sun heat and fridged cold winters. The extra light is a boost for those who suffer from depression when it's too dark outside. A sunroom is usually a light and cheery place, an escape perfected with a good book and a glass of tea.

If your property has a great view and you can't see it then you're doing yourself a real dis-service and could greatly improve your property value with a sunroom or deck. How should you start?

You can either get a sunroom kit from the internet or a large retail home improvement store, or you can speak with a local contractor and have a room specially designed and built for your needs. Obviously the second option is the more expensive, but also the most customized and guaranteed to match your homes interior and exterior decor. There are a lot of factors to consider when building an entire room from scratch, such as building permits, flooring foundations and more. At least speak with a professional if you have very little construction experience.

The Wireless Home

It was only a few years ago that Real Estate agents and Builders were promoting the "Wired" feature as a must have when buying a new home. Wired meant that the home not only had cable running throughout it, but also Cat-5 wire. Cat-5 wire consists of four pairs of wire that are sheathed into one bundle, and is used for interconnecting multiple computers and computer peripherals throughout the home. Electricians went to great length to run Cat-5 throughout new homes, and homebuyers paid a handsome premium for it. Now the latest buzz from the Computer and Networking world is, "Unwire Your Home", as the Computer/Internet world rapidly moves to wireless interconnections.

Most of the leading Personal Computer (PC) providers are major players in this paradigm shift. They are selling new technology from leading networking equipment companies that enable homeowners to wirelessly connect their Personal Computers to their Home Entertainment centers. Through a Wireless Media Adapter, connected via standard cables to the Home Entertainment Center, and a Wireless Router connected to the PC, homeowners can enjoy their digital photographs and MP3 music collection on their Televisions and play their MP3 music collection through their stereo system. Photographs and music stored on the PC are wirelessly transmitted anywhere within the home to their Home Entertainment Center.

The wireless protocol interconnecting the Media Adapter and Router is known as Wireless-B (802.11b). The Media Adapters typically include a Remote Control, and have user-friendly menus that are displayed on the TV. They can support JPEG, GIF, TIF, and BMP type file formats and the Remote Control can also be used for browsing your MP3 or WMA formatted music collection. Today, the cost for a wireless Media Adapter is around $100, and the cost for a wireless Router is around $50.

There is still a benefit for some Cat-5 wire in the home, but without a doubt, wireless is the present and future technology for interconnecting home electronics. Definitely take a look at these products prior to paying any type of "wired" premium on a new home.

Decorative Glass Doors

However, have you ever considered what you might want for the doors? Sure, there are the classic light, white wooden doors, or the very heavy carved medieval-looking wood doors; however, heavily carved old-fashioned doors tend to be stained in darker colors, and create a rather gloomy atmosphere in your home.

For a more modern, contemporary design, you might want to consider decorative glass doors instead.

Why use decorative glass doors? Well, there are plenty of reasons for that! One major advantage that a decorative glass door ahs over a dark, old, medieval wooden door is the ability to allow light from room to room.

The transfer of so much daylight throughout the house will create an overall lighter atmosphere, allowing more daylight into your home and creating a warmer effect.

Recently, studies have shown that exposure to plenty of daylight inside the home is good for your health because it wards off depression and also increases your productivity.

Decorative glass doors come in many shapes, sizes, and designs. For a more contemporary look, you may just simply want to consider an elegant glass door with gold or silver metallic touches on the edges; clear glass will allow the door to let in the most light.

These can be effective for the door leading to your patio or deck, so that you get a nice, clear view of the backyard. A decorative glass door also may be used for office and room doors.

However, when you are considering doors for the bathroom, you may want to use a frosted glass door, because frosted glass doors are more translucent and provide much more privacy than a clear glass door.

This same idea goes for the shower; while shower curtains might suffice, having a glass door for your shower will allow more light in so that you no longer have to stand in the dark shower—you can enjoy the warm water in the light!

Frosted glass can come in many different variations. There is frosted textured glass that isn’t quite transparent but not that translucent either, and simply has wavy designs all over the glass so that it’s difficult to see the clear image on the other side.

There’s also sandblasted frosted glass, which creates sort of a grayish, almost plastic-like sheen over the glass to create translucency.

Another type of decorative glass door is the stained glass door. Stained glass doors can be used as front doors because they tend to be a bit fancier, though I would not recommend you use bright contrasting colors on your stained glass door, as that may seem a bit over-bright and difficult to match to your exterior house design.

Many homeowners have also used stained decorative glass doors as their cabinet doors, and these create beautiful effects for your kitchen area, as it allows light to travel into and light up all your cabinets—and thus, your entire room.

Interior Glass Doors for the Modern Home

Doors are an essential part of the home—you go in and out of doors every day, you open and shut doors all the time. Doors can both add to and detract from the beauty, harmony, and sophistication of a house, so do give them just as much consideration as you give the carpet and the walls.

In the modern day, there is a strong trend toward using interior glass doors instead of wooden doors due to glass’s beauty, sophisticated look, and its ability to let light travel from room to room.

A well-lit, cheerful house has been proven to keep up your mood, fight depression, and help you become more productive, because your body and brain naturally work better when you’re happier.

Interior glass doors can be used for many things—they can lead to the outside as patio or deck doors, while allowing plenty of light into the back rooms of your home.

They can lead from room to room (and even to the bathroom—but you may want to consider using a frosted glass door, which is translucent but still allows light through), and will create a wonderfully well-lit atmosphere if you use only glass doors.

Interior glass doors are also often used for the shower, though those doors are generally frosted glass or textured in some way to make them translucent.

However, having glass shower doors is wonderful, because it allows plenty of light to pour into the shower when you are inside, instead of suffering the darkness caused by a shower curtain.

Interior glass doors can even be used on cabinets and closets. Cabinets usually require a thinner, though unbreakable, glass; because glass is not like wood (which allows for easy hinges and nails), you may want to consider sliding cabinet doors if you are indeed going to use interior glass doors for your cabinets.

Glass doesn’t usually work very well with hinges, so rail systems will have to do the trick. You can also try revolving cabinet doors, and that will add a creative, splendidly elegant design to your home.

Closets often also use interior glass doors, though usually glass doors are reserved for larger, usually walk-in, closets, as the door must be slid to the side in order to access the contents of the closet.

When selecting the interior glass doors to grace your home, be sure to obtain the correct size measurement, and stick with a thickness of about 20 mm for outside doors, and about 10 to 15 mm for interior glass doors. Interior glass doors will add a touch of daylight and happiness into your home, and you will be sure not to regret having installed them.

Hotel Furniture: The Importance of Quality Interiors

You may be wondering why quality is so important in hotel furniture. There are at least five reasons to consider out of the box that are appropriate for hotels on all end of the price range. If you don't at least meet the minimums of these five reasons you need to reconsider your furniture and décor choices because they could be damaging your business and the reputation of your business.

Comfort

Quality furniture and décor provides hotel guests with a sense of comfort. You want the furniture to be comfortable for those that are your guests without question but you also want to choose furniture that will provide them with mental comfort that your hotel has their best interests at heart. If you provide comfortable surroundings for your guests, chances are much greater that they will not only return but also share their positive reviews with others.

It is probable however, that if you fail to deliver these things they will let everyone they know hear about it. For some reason people are much more eager to share bad experiences rather than positive experiences. You want, at all times, to provide a positive experience for your hotel guests. Giving them furniture and surroundings that are comfortable is a great beginning in that effort. Avoid allowing your guests to feel uncomfortable by making bad or cheap furniture choices. Go for quality and the comfort it provides.

Security

People feel more secure in surroundings that are visually appealing. It may not really matter one bit in the grand scheme of things but the feeling of security is one that you definitely want your hotel to portray. Remember that this business is all about making your guests feel as comfortable as possible. It is nearly impossible to feel comfortable and welcomed when you feel threatened or afraid in your surroundings.

Hotel rooms should be furnished and decorated in a manner that invites peaceful and relaxing thoughts not one that leads your guests to worry about gang violence or the possibility of room raids. Furniture that is elegant in design, walls that are lightly colored, and muted artwork are great tools used by hotels to promote a sense of security. Other tools to promote security are furniture that is comfortable, well designed, and durable. You want the furniture you purchase to last without fraying or appearing dirty or stained. Stains, rips, frayed edges and such are things that lead to guests feeling less secure in their surroundings. Quality furniture provides a sense of security and is likely to stand up to use without showing wear as quickly as cheap furniture.

Respectability

Quality furniture creates an aura of respectability for you and your hotel. If your goal is to provide the very best in guest services and customer satisfaction then you need to begin by offering quality hotel furniture that is visually appealing as much as it is comfortable for the evening. You need to pay attention to detail in the furnishing from the hotel lobby to the hallways and definitely in the rooms and suites. You want your guests to find your hotel meets and exceeds all their expectations.

Too many hotels focus all their decorating and furniture design efforts on the lobby and pay little attention to details when it comes to guest rooms. You need to provide equal care and attention to both. The lobby is a first impression and you do want to make an excellent first impression. At the same time you want the rooms to be respectable as well. This means you should attend to stains, repair wobbly tables, remove broken items, and replace them as quickly as possible. In order to retain respectability you need to make sure that every piece of furniture in your hotel is not only quality but also properly maintained.

Soothing

Quality hotel furniture, artwork, and design should be soothing. Most people rent hotel rooms as a place to rest their heads at night. The hotel is generally a place to stay while traveling. It doesn't matter whether your guests are traveling for business or pleasure it matters that the hotel is not the destination in general but a place to relax while at (or on their way to) their destination. You need to create an atmosphere that is soothing so that they can properly unwind after a long day on the road, doing business, or playing in the sun (when vacationing). The right furniture can provide this sense of solace and so much more. You must choose excellent quality and have a great eye. It helps to find a designer that specializes in hotel furnishings if you are concerned about your ability to put together a soothing palette for your hotel furniture, walls, and art.

Restful

This is perhaps the most important consideration for hotel furniture. You want your guests to get a good night's sleep more than anything else. That is generally why they decide to purchase a hotel room in the first place. You need to invest quite a bit of time and attention to finding the right furniture for bedding, seating, and for working if you cater to a business clientele. But the bedding is what is going to make the money for you. If you offer comfortable bedding furniture in your hotel you will be on to something since so few do.

Quality is an extremely important consideration when selecting hotel furniture. If you want to create an environment that invites guests to return year after year then you will need to make quality furniture a priority for your hotel business.

The Essentials of a Buying Great Cafe Tables

It is good to boil down to the essentials the components of a successful cafe as you begin your business plan to open your coffee shop because in doing so, you can create a checklist of characteristics of a great menu, rock solid workers and furniture that will make your new cafe take off. The furniture has a lot riding on it. Besides the obvious need for function, cafe tables tie in the overall themes of the interior design and help convey the atmosphere and mood that will appeal to the particular clientele you hope to become regulars in your cafe.

High quality is a must in the cafe tables you set out for your customers use. Next to the chairs, the tables in your coffee shop will undergo the most continuous use next to the plates, forks and spoons. And even then, rotation means that those items will not be in constant use which your tables will almost certainly see. This means that those tables much do more than just stay standing and not fall while holding customer's food and drinks, they must be pleasant, free of nicks and easy to clean up to like new condition every day.

Unlike many restaurants, the appeal of a cafe is that customers can linger in your shop and visit, work on homework or computer projects or discuss business deals at length. This is why the coffee shop has virtually replaced bars and pubs as the heart of social life and the relaxed ambiance of your cafe is a primary goal in your decorating scheme. The tables you offer to your customers will have guests stay for anywhere from a half hour to half a day. So they must be ready to "host" customers that long. While customers actually seldom think about the tables they sit at, that's the point. If they thought about the table, that would mean something was wrong. So the table must be a silent servant for hours and then be ready in an instant to host a new group as soon as the last group goes on their way.

The layout of your cafe will dictate different kinds of cafe tables so you should look to purchase a number of designs of tables to fit those needs. Many of your guests will enjoy standing and talking while having a table for resting their beverages. Standing tables encourage walk through traffic which are patrons who come in and make their purchase, enjoy a brief cafe experience and move on. This is kind of faster moving traffic is good for business. So strategically position these tables to accommodate the fast paced lifestyle these patrons will bring with them. But you will also need smaller tables for just 2-3 customers to enjoy intimate discussion and larger tables for groups to gather to spend hours together in you shop, talking, laughing, arguing and at the same time, eating, drinking and spending money.

At the same time, all of your cafe tables should coordinate in style, color and design to each other and to the dominant design and decor of your cafe. That means you while you are looking for tables that fit your needs, you all also looking for a manufacturer and supplier who can customize your table order to give you just what you need in high quality tables of various sizes and all customized to fit your decorating scheme as well.

Keep in mind also when envisioning the cafe tables that you will buy that cafe furniture will be more mobile than furniture is a traditional restaurant. That is because the assumption, approach and "contract" that a cafe with it's guests is different than in a normal restaurant. In the standard restaurant, people come, eat and leave and the layout of the restaurant is not negotiable. Once you have the restaurant set up the way you want it, you could virtually bolt the tables to the ground. Not only should they not move, you don't encourage your customers to move them around.

The customers of a cafe see that coffee house as their home away from home. Hospitality is an even bigger part of what you offer to your guests than the food or drink you sell. Those things are there to support the hospitality you offer, not vice versa. So your customers should feel at ease to rearrange the tables and chairs as they wish to accommodate their social needs and the size of their group. If they want to spontaneously push tables together for a big group gathering, the facility and the tables should be easy to manipulate like this.

In the same way the furniture in your cafe should be easily taken care of by employees. Its just a given that there will be spills and accidents. So your staff should be able to quickly get the tables cleaned up and in a ready condition to greet new guests very quickly with no effect on the furniture. In that way little mishaps like a spill can be taken care of with no alarm or fuss and the mood of the cafe that you work so hard to maintain is not disrupted.

The essentials of good cafe tables are that they are well made, tough, easy to move around and designed not fit the needs of your customers in any group size and to provide them service sitting at straight back chairs, in lounge chairs or couches or standing up. The tables should be easy to take care of and not show damage easily so there are no dings or signs of wear over time. And the tables should come from the kind of supplier and manufacturer who can customize what you need to fit your decor easily.

This is a tall order and it means you may not be able to economize on your cafe tables. But by investing well in this very essential part of your cafe equipment, you will start out day one with great cafe tables that will last for decades and serve hundreds or thousands of customers with no need for replacements or repair. And that is worth a little more investment in quality up front.

Making Bistro Work For You

But as with any interior decorating scheme, there are always two considerations especially when it comes to buying tables and chairs for a space where people will mingle and perhaps eat and drink. The first consideration is capturing the feel and atmosphere that a well done bistro decorating plan creates. And in that way, a beautiful and exotic bistro table and chair combination can't be beat for creating that atmosphere and for tying in with the overall decorating plan of the room.

The second consideration is not directly about your guests but the behind the scenes part of owning any fine furniture. That consideration is the quality of construction and the selection of materials you might decide to go with particularly for your bistro table or tables that will be the real heart of your new decorating scheme. Now if we asked out loud - do you want the highest quality of construction for your bistro table possible? - naturally your answer would be yes. But that is a trick question because there is always a balancing act between what you are prepared to spend on your bistro tables and the level of quality you can get.

As in any product choices, whether to buy the "Cadillac" of the industry or the "Chewy" can make a difference in price and quality. But unlike our example, when it comes to the tables you will use to serve your quests in your bistro, the name brand doesn't mean a thing to them. So the reason you would start you research into what bistro tables to buy with the top of the line and most popular table makers is to find out why they are ranked so high to develop your quality check list to use when evaluating other makes and manufacturers or bistro tables.

But along with the issue of quality of construction, what materials to look for in bistro furniture will also impact the look of the piece and the long term care issues. It seems that the dominant belief concerning what a bistro table should be made of pushes us toward wood tables. That is because the image of a bistro setting is one of a earthy setting decorated in natural tones and dominated by wood furniture and accessories. So the first thing to think about is whether we can achieve that same look without going with all wood furniture and whether stipulating that we will only accept wood bistro tables is going to be a rule in our selection process.

Before we go very far into the wood versus other materials discussion when it comes to bistro tables, it should be understood that the thing customers or your friends will enjoy about the interior design of your bistro bar or lounge will be the look of wood because it is so warm, intimate and inviting. But many fine bistro table create that look using other materials that require far less maintenance and offer other advantages too. However, it is understandable if you have a "only the purest of wood for me" approach to the purchase decisions you make for your new bar room or restaurant. It's just a good idea to be fully informed on the downsides of going with a solid wood table design, particularly if you need a good number of tables for a fairly large bistro project.

When looking at all wood bistro tables, keep in mind that all wood could mean that table may have an outer veneer of oak or pine or whatever the wood look you want is but the bulk of the table is an inferior substance. Many times that substance is a composite of sawdust and glue which makes the table cheaper to make and sell. Now of course as long as the table is in good shape, your friends and customers may never see this hidden construction secret.

But wood veneer is usually glued on to the composite substance underneath it. This is fine for some pieces of furniture that are not going to get wet or have heavy use. But of all the furniture in your bar, lounge or restaurant, the tables and chairs get the heaviest use of them all. Drinks and food are constantly being spilled there which is wiped up with damp sponges many times during a single busy night at your bistro. Over time this can cause that veneer to peel up and expose the composite wood under the veneer which is ugly and distasteful for your guests. The only alternative is to discard the table and buy all new.

Its good to add this information to your background research so if you start shopping for all wood bistro tables, you know what kind of questions to ask. If you go with your instincts and buy only solid oak tables or some other solid wood, you will pay a higher price for that level of quality. Usually these kinds of high standards are reserved for rooms where refined activity will take place and the table will not get much use or everyone will be reserved enough to always use coasters. That is because with pure wood, you have to be concerned about the finish and whether glasses or food will damage the wood underneath. This is why your mother drove you crazy about always using a coaster.

But a bistro is far from a refined and sedate setting. The entire idea of creating a bistro lounge environment is fun and good times. So you don't want to have to always running around worrying about your guests using coasters and about whether the table is well cared for on a long night of entertaining friends or hosting customers in your club or restaurant. If you think about it, that would make the table more important that your guests and that won't do at all.

These are all good reasons to consider going with another material as the primary construction of your bistro tables. You can still achieve that wood look and feel but you will have much fewer worries about the tables so your guests can relax and use the tables rather have to be custodians of the care of the tables. And the tables will usually be lighter so you can move them around easier which is a big part of life in a bistro club.

You will probably find that your costs of purchase for your bistro tables is more manageable going with an alternate base for the table and they will last much longer giving you better value for your investment. This is not to say to drop your insistence on only the best for your customers who come to your bistro. But it does say that you are making the choices you make as you put together your bar or club work for you and making choices that are beautiful and stylish and practical as well.

Reception Furniture: Styling a Great Waiting Area

Keep it Comfortable

You want to provide a comfortable place for your customers to wait and/or be received. If they are going to be patient enough to wait then you need to provide a comfortable environment for them to do so. This means providing seating, perhaps some form of entertainment, magazines, tables, and entertainment for children that may be with them. You especially need to provide entertainment for the children if your business is child centered. This will make the wait more comfortable for everyone involved.

When it comes to the furniture in particular you want to make sure that it provides comfortable seating first and foremost. The longer the typical wait the more comfortable you want the seating to be. The last thing you want is a reception area that is filled with people who are clock watching due to discomfort. You will find plenty of clock-watchers without giving them another reason to do so.

Another way to keep your reception room comfortable with furniture is to provide furniture that doesn't make the room seem cluttered or claustrophobic. Putting too much furniture in a small space can be a bad decision unless you absolutely need every available space for seating. If this is the case you may want to consider seating options only and eliminating tables or find a bigger reception area.

Coordinate

If style and design are important to you, and you probably wouldn't be reading this if it isn't, then you should take great pains to insure that your furniture choices coordinate well with the colors for your walls, ceiling, flooring, and artwork. You will find that a reception area is much less comfortable when the pieces of furniture and art do not work well with one another or the walls. It is worth taking a little extra time to see everything together before making the ultimate decision to buy any of these things together. If there is one item that you absolutely must have in your reception area then that is the piece that you will need to insure works with everything else. Bring it with you whenever you look at furniture, curtains, blinds, paint, and art. This simple act alone can save you valuable time and money and help create a reception area that is well furnished and well put together.

Versatility

If you want to get the most value for your reception furniture dollar then you need to find coordinating seating that is functional, durable, comfortable, and versatile. No bones about it. Reception areas are often used as multipurpose areas. You need to find furniture for your reception area that is suited for all your reception area needs. One way of doing this is by choosing furniture that can be easily moved and rearranged and having emergency furniture standing by for those times when you need extra seating. The more options for the reception space that your furniture allows while providing the same standards of style and quality you expect, the better suited your furniture will be to meet all your needs.

Consult a Designer

There are designers who will do consultations without doing the entire design for you. This is a money saving way to get excellent advice about style, design, and the arrangement of space without spending a fortune hiring a designer. If you are stuck in your design plans or really need something spectacular in order to give your customers then you just might benefit greatly from utilizing this essential tool for furnishing your reception area or at least guidance and suggestions about the furnishings for your reception area.

When looking for a designer you will want to find one that specializes in business design (if you can find one that specializes in your particular business it is even better). Make sure you find a designer that comes highly recommended or one that designed a business reception area that you personally like. References and portfolios are a must when bringing in someone to design your reception area. After all, this is the place where you receive your business and it says a lot about your business to those that are waiting.

Ask for Opinions

Before you put any paint on the wall or match any furniture to your carpeting you need to get second, third, and any number of other opinions on the furniture, the layout, the colors, and the combination of all things that will go into the design of your reception area. There are few areas that are as important to a business as the reception area from the viewpoint of clients and you need to make sure that area is inviting and visually pleasing. One way to do that is to ask the opinions of others that would represent a general cross section of your clientele.

You do not need all opinions to be glowing opinions but you do need to know if any find the reception furniture uncomfortable, visually displeasing, and (more importantly) if they dislike it enough to leave rather than waiting. Finding out the opinions of others can help shape your decisions on reception furniture and other important details of your reception area décor.

Reception areas can say so many good things about your business. Unfortunately, most businesses use stale design and dated furniture for their reception furniture. You need to wow potential clients and customers with tasteful, elegant, and comfortable reception furniture instead of putting them to sleep like the competition.

Design Your Ideal Home With an Interior Designer

While the average homeowner probably will not get this opportunity, there are still ways to improve on the interior design of your home by yourself, and with the help of friends, family, and local contractors.

To renovate your interior, the first thing you need to think about is, obviously, what you want. Many people can instantly conjure up images of their perfect home, while others need a little more time to think about what would be most pleasing to them. Things to think about include color schemes, room arrangements, how much space you need, what fixtures and accessories to have, and any themes or styles you are fond of. You may also need to get new furniture, or at least clean some of it up a bit, to fit in with your vision. Do not be afraid to spend a lot of time on this step; after all, the dream is what will guide you and will be very evocative of the final product. Since you will literally have to live with the end creation, you want to make sure you will love it.

Gathering ideas is much simpler than you would expect. Many homeowners are faced with the challenge of creating a new interior design, and the market has acknowledged that problem and met it with a variety of resources. There is a multitude of home related magazines available, which include a plethora of tips and suggestions that you can choose to follow. In addition, there are tons of home related websites on the Internet, which can be an additional source of inspiration for you to use. The best ideas are often locked away in your own mind, so take some time to brainstorm. If you cannot come up with anything, do not worry. Often, you just need some time to incubate for the best concepts to emerge.

One popular, specific idea that several homeowners are deciding to go with is the beach layout. In this structure, walls are painted with ocean related colors, such as light whites, greens, and blues. Furniture should be overstuffed, comfortable, and easy to move around, for a feeling of mobility and flexibility. Rooms should be well lighted, and even the lighting fixtures themselves can have a coastal theme, such as a lighthouse shaped lamp. Depending on how far you want to take the premise, you can decorate your home with sea creature figurines and models.

If you want to fully integrate the theme in to your home's overall environment, you can attach large items to your walls, such as fishing poles. The greatest touch is artwork, which, if chosen thoughtfully, can fully elicit the ocean experience. When you take into account all of the aspects of interior design, there is no limit to how intense a design you can create.
